Cheesecake is a classic and delicious dessert that can be made at home with just a few simple ingredients. Follow this step-by-step guide to make a delicious cheesecake that will impress your friends and family.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 24 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sour cream

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar, and melted butter. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to create the crust.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and 1 cup sugar together until smooth. Add in the eggs, one at a time, making sure each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the cream cheese mixture into the prepared crust and smooth out the top with a spatula.
  5. Bake the cheesecake for 45-50 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is slightly jiggly.
  6. Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, spread the sour cream on top of the cheesecake and smooth it out.
  7. Refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow it to fully set.
  8. Once the cheesecake is set, remove it from the springform pan and slice it into wedges to serve.

Optional:

  • You can add fresh fruit, chocolate chips or nuts on top of cheesecake before refrigerating.
  • You can also make a homemade fruit sauce or chocolate ganache to drizzle over the cheesecake before serving.
